Manuka Honey – She like it now

There is a saying that when kids start kindergarten, they will fall sick easily until their immune system gets boosted up.

Knowing this, I am not too bother by those general ailing usually until Sarah got a quite severe cough, twice, in the gap of a week; it tends to get worse through the night, thus disturbing her sleep.

Soon after she recovered from cough, we decided to try her on Manuka Honey (again) besides her daily Vitamin-C intake. We do hope that it help to “nourishing” her lung after recent difficult spell.

Unlike 17 months ago, she like it so much this time; she will licked the spoon clean every time she had it. This is totally unexpected.

These are the words she will say whenever she’s enjoying the honey.

Rachel:
Yes, I feed her a teaspoon of honey directly from the bottle.

Kathy:
Maybe some kids cannot consume honey too much, it will have the reverse effect in making them cough.

Mery:
Is good that Ryan likes it. Adding propolis into it, will it dissolve in water?
I am sure it helps to boost up the immune system. Thanks for info.

Kristie:
Yea, luckily she likes it.
Does Jayden likes honey?

yeap, heard of manuka honey, good to sooth the throat, and propolis too. if got sore throat, squeeze little bit of lemon into the honey as well. not too sure whether it will exaggerate cough in certain, however I believe we should take /eat everything moderately

Hi Alice,
I like lemon with honey, yum yum! Oh yes, sometimes I will add one or two sour plum into the water mixture, taste delicious.
- Yea, maybe Sarah should take it moderately. At this moment she still loves it so I just let her be, hehe. But I know in very near future, she will get bored!

Hi Joanne,

My girl and I love manuka honey too :)

I notice that Sarah was holding stainless steel spoon to eat honey? I heard that it's not good to use steel spoon whenever we take honey as it will affect the quality of the honey. It's better to use ceramic or plastic spoon instead :)

Cheers,
KY

Yea..just like our kids...their cough and flu seem to go on and off ever since they are going to school. So worried too.

Im giving them the Scott's emulsion but not for our boy he rejects it very much. So I must make sure he drinks freshly squeezed orange juice.

Take care...

Sara is now getting bigger and prettier..

It seems like a norm that kids will falling sick quite frequently after started kindy but I am sure they will get better once the immune system become stronger.
- If I am not wrong, you have told me once that Habibi dislike the taste of Scott Emulsion even the orange flav one. Maybe he found it has a taste?
Actually I am unsure about the taste too as I have not tasted it for yearsssssssss...Hehe.
- You are a great Mama. The effort from you in making him fresh orange juice daily definitely makes him feel stronger and healthier.
- Thanks for your compliment. But sometimes Sarah can be very boyish and really act like a boy boy!
