“Gong Xi Fa Cai”

The first time daddy teach Sarah about the CNY greeting “Gong Xi Fa Cai”, she was kind of confuse and even show refusal; she has no idea about the words.

To make her feel more comfortable and easier to remember, I explained about the “usefulness” of this greeting phrase to her.

I told her that whenever she greets people with “Gong Xi Fa Cai”, she will get an Ang Pao; and I also showed her what’s inside the Ang Pao. She’s aware that she could use the money to buy things she likes…

The tricks worked! Now, she fall in love with the phrase so much and she like to say it loud and clear!

Such trick didn't work on my Ryan!! He knew the angpau got $ and he could buy toy cars wt the $. But still, he refused to wish Gong Xi Fa Cai when we asked him to greet. He'll only greet when he's in a good mood... sigh.

Doreen:
Haha, kids are like that, they will only want to speak when they are in good mood. So for Sarah, maybe she is in the CNY mood:-)

Just to share...

Few minutes after John got an ang pao from my sis, I didn't see him holding it. No answer from him when we asked, so we were all looking for it. Where's the ang pao?

Later on my niece wanted to throw rubbish, she shouted "ah yi... john's ang pao!!" she found it in the bin... lucky.

John has a habit putting rubbish in the bin, even if he found small piece of paper in the park he will put it in the bin.

Actually Sarah has very thick hair, like me. So it is not easy to maintain her long and thick hair. But I must say, she would look more lady-like with long hair:-)
Anyway, thanks for your comment.

Lydia:
This is a funny sharing from you Lydia.
John is extremely cute and innocent. He thought the ang pao is just another piece of rubbish, oh my...luckily your niece found it:-)
Anyway, he is very good boy lah, he will not simply throw rubbish.

Sha:
Thank you for your greeting Sha.
If you are here at KL, I will surely meet up with you during this festive season:-)
Thanks for your comment about Sarah. Yea, she has been growing pretty fast, in terms of her hair length and her height too.
