Manuka Honey

Sarah seems less interested in drinking plain-water as compared to when she was a baby.

One of the recommendations from friend is to add honey into the water, and they say normally kids like it. Therefore, we’ve bought Manuka Honey for Sarah to try.

Alas, she totally dislikes the honey taste. She kept shivering when she first have it, and then she stick out her tongue; so I guess mommy has to take over from here to finish the remaining two cans of it.

Honestly, I was not a big fan of honey but I am now! The other night after I have my first try with just small amount, I fell in love with it; it taste quite sweet but I like its aromatic flavour.

No wonder bees protect it and bears love it.

Yes, this is a very good honey with healing properties, that's why it's expensive.

Yes, consuming honey has quite a lot of benefit and one of it that I experience it myself is; it keeps me energetic after having a teaspoon of it.

Doreen:
Good idea, I never think of honey with lemon. Should try it next time. Thanks!

Karen:
Another good idea from you Karen. Honey with English tea. Never try it before. Should taste good!

Ann:

Yea, maybe last time during preggy, I did not take honey that's why now Sarah dislike it, hehe.
Actually I also not sure about the purity of Manuka Honey, but I think the money which I have paid for it is worth with the quality:-)

Shirley:
Honey is good for you and your bb, so drink more of it:-)
I never try glucose water. Thanks for your suggestion. Should try it.

BoeyJoey:
Good that your kids love honey.
Is it? It is good to clear the phlegm? I should inform my sister about it because she is afraid honey will cause more phlegm.
Thanks for the info:-)

Wenn:
Merry Xmas to you too.

Rachel:
Woww....adding kat chai into it? Should taste superb!

Hihi, long time no see:-) How are you and Ryan?
Ryan also seldom drink plain water?
Yea, using different method to encourage them to drink more water is effective. I also will boil barley water for Sarah and she is okay with the warm barley.

Kitty:
Ryan also dislike drinking plain water? Maybe you can try this method by adding honey with water. Hope he is fine with it.
Yea, I will consider to serve the honey water cold and see whether Sarah likes it or not. Maybe I should add some lemon or limau kasturi too.

Kathy:
Sarah likes cold drink too. I shall try it with ice. Thanks yeah:-)

I heard that manuka honey is very good. But I only give my gal normal honey...she likes it. Since Sarah doesn't like the taste of honey, perhaps you can let her drink ribena.

Merry Xmas!!

John loves honey or any drink with flavour except cough mixture. haha...

Btw, you can try to add some lemon juice or "kat zai" juice. It tastes good especially with some ice cubes (for mom).

Mommy Ling said...

Ethel also dont like honey..funny..i thought she will like something sweet but not honey..heheh.

I heard that Manuka is good.

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Lydia:
Good that John loves honey. He is really a good boy, coz seems like he is not picky in terms of foods or drinks.
Thanks for your suggestions Lydia. I have tried the other day by adding "kat zai" and also some sour plum into the honey water, that's really a brilliant way to attract Sarah to drink it.

June:
Hehe, Ethel also another kid that do not like honey. I think because of the strong taste of honey makes them dislike it.
The other day, I tried honey water with some "kat chai" and also sour plum, and the taste is great. You may try it.
