Of Flu Bug, Porridge and Snack

Tomato, Carrot and Corn Porridge
Sarah has been attacked by flu bug and cough since last week. She has not much appetite; therefore, I’ve decided to cook porridge for her.

But she was not able to finish the meal although the porridge tastes good.

Actually, I noticed that Sarah is more into her formula milk (rather than solid food) lately. She preferred food that has more liquid, for example, rice with a lot of soup. She could finish a big bowl of it.

I think it is okay to let her be, as long as she’s not running on an empty stomach.

Deep Fried Anchovies (Ikan Bilis)
This is one of my all-time favourites. It is a simple and easy-to-prepared snack.

Wash the anchovies before deep fry in medium-high heat until they turned brown and crispy. Drain the oil and wait for the anchovies to cool off; then store it in an airtight container and keep inside the fridge.

Anchovies are a healthy meal; even fried anchovies are a good source of essential nutrients and vitamins. I do let Sarah have the snack, but I make sure she drinks plenty of water after that.

Yeap, it is quite salty. Therefore normally I only give Sarah about 5 pcs. Hehe.

Sarah is getting better now. Still have mucus off and on, but not so runny like the other days.
Oh yes, must let Yan2 drink a lot of water after eating the snack.

Thanks for your concern. She is getting much better today.

I like fried anchovies too. Sometimes I crushed and mixed with John's meal, such as fried rice and it tasted so good. No other seasoning needed.
