Pan Mee (or Mee Fun Kuih)

Sarah loves Pan Mee whenever we eating outside; we have to order extra portion because she can eats quite a lot. Well, since she likes it so much, why not I cook it myself?

I started by google the recipes and I let Sarah involve in making the Pan Mee dough. She’s enjoying the process and she was such a good helper.

The final outcome is far from satisfying. The Pan Mee turned out to be a little too chewy for Sarah; it looked like she was having the chewing gum.

I think it’s the water; I should add more water into the dough mixture in my next attempt.

Port Dickson

It’s been a while since we last bring Sarah to Cameron Highlands for vacation. Therefore, over the weekend while daddy needs to mind some chores in his hometown, we stop over at Port Dickson (Corus Hotel) for a night stay.

Sarah seemed to be anxious (and not excited) when she saw us loading luggage to the car and then she just kept silent for the first 30 minutes in the journey, until I warmed her up with some snacks. Actually we did tell her where we heading to, but she just say “No No”. Luckily she was okay once we reached the destination.

There was some arcade game at the hotel lobby and she was attracted to it instantly; she keep pressing the buttons and turning the joystick.

After we have checked in and also had a short nap, we headed to the swimming pool. I was worried that Sarah will afraid of the water as compared to her mini pool at home, but she showed no fear at all.

Next, we brought her to the beach. I don’t think she like seaside at this stage because she seems annoyed as the wave kept hitting her. And she is too “hygienic” to play with sand; she needs her hands to be washed every time she touches them.

At the evening we fete ourselves a seafood dinner then proceed to daddy’s hometown. Sarah was so happy during the trip that she doesn’t want to go to sleep at night; she played with all the limited toys available in the hotel room (and the best part was she did not disturbing us while we were reading newspaper and drinking coffee).

It was just a simple trip; the hotel is a bit run down and the seaside is not so clean, to be honest. But nevertheless it is consider a good day off for all of us at the beach.

Second Puzzle

I guess Sarah has been doing quite well on the wooden puzzle that we bought her. She’s now able to solve it accurately, but also started to get bored with it; therefore, I decided to buy a new one for her.

I got this colourful puzzle from Popular Bookshop; its quality is quite good. Sarah likes it when she first saw it (maybe because of the elephant picture) and insisted to buy it.

She showed more interest toward solving the “frog” and “penguin”. She just loves to put all the circles in place on these puzzle. Besides, she also likes to play with the box.

As long as she’s enjoying the exploring process, puzzles will always be a worthy toy.

Of Flu Bug, Porridge and Snack

Tomato, Carrot and Corn Porridge
Sarah has been attacked by flu bug and cough since last week. She has not much appetite; therefore, I’ve decided to cook porridge for her.

But she was not able to finish the meal although the porridge tastes good.

Actually, I noticed that Sarah is more into her formula milk (rather than solid food) lately. She preferred food that has more liquid, for example, rice with a lot of soup. She could finish a big bowl of it.

I think it is okay to let her be, as long as she’s not running on an empty stomach.

Deep Fried Anchovies (Ikan Bilis)
This is one of my all-time favourites. It is a simple and easy-to-prepared snack.

Wash the anchovies before deep fry in medium-high heat until they turned brown and crispy. Drain the oil and wait for the anchovies to cool off; then store it in an airtight container and keep inside the fridge.

Anchovies are a healthy meal; even fried anchovies are a good source of essential nutrients and vitamins. I do let Sarah have the snack, but I make sure she drinks plenty of water after that.

My name is “Era”

It was a great milestone when Sarah started to talk several months ago, it mean a lot to us; and she’s now trying to string few words together to form a short sentence. I feel so glad that I am able to communicate with her in more efficient way.

As expected, there’s bound to be some funny moment about it, just watch this…

She always called herself “Era”; that’s how she said her name when being asked. We tried to correct her many times but seem she’s still unable to pronounce her name correctly.

So, for the time being she will be “Era”.

From the bottom of my heart – Part 2

My friends told me not to post about their gift for Sarah, but I think that’s the only way I could express my gratitude for their kind wishes.

Thanks again guys, for all the nice birthday pressies.

Gift from Nicole

Nicole has surprised me with the gifts. Sarah loves stickers, further more Barney stickers.

Gift from Boey “Jie Jie”

Remember the girl next door? She has given Sarah a Mickey Mouse box which contained Sand Art. I think now its time for me to start learning it…it’s going to be fun!

Gift from Joanne Ngan

Joanne bought a beautiful hat for Sarah. To be honest, I never buy one for her; that’s her first hat and she really loves it. She does not want to take it off the moment she wears it.

Of course, Sarah loves the stickers too.

Gift from Moon

Moon told me that she’s sending some “small” gift for Sarah, but I think the gifts are nice and special. Sarah enjoys herself drawing on the mini white-board and also pasting the emboss stickers.

Gift from Alyse

Sarah shouted “Burger” the moment she sees it. I am sure she will looked “tempting” with a “food” on her hair.

Gift from Mery

This is the first pencil case and writing tools for Sarah. I will keep it until she is going to kindy.

Gift from Kiyo

Kiyo (another neighbour of mine) went back to Japan to visit her parents; and she came back with this gift. She is very smart in getting a large-size for Sarah, but it is still little tight for her thigh.

Yi Mien Soup with Mackerel and Cucumber

Sarah dislikes the taste of fresh cucumber; therefore, I’ve cook it in soup together with her favourite Yi Mien.

I also fried the mackerel lightly in order to get rid of its fishy taste.

Luckily Sarah did not aware it was cucumber and keeps munching it. I guess she loves its crumbly texture together with the fish and noodle.

Yes, our blog got a new header. It’s almost a year ago since we last changed our header and my husband decided to do it another round…

I wish I knew more about design so I can contribute some idea; therefore, the only thing I can do now is getting the feedback from you guys.

Tell me which one you prefer, and what you think?
