Salmon Porridge with Asparagus and Tomato

I just love adding fish into Sarah’s menu, more over it’s a Salmon that with a packed full of nutrients; I guess it won’t be a bad idea to cook it once more.

This lazy mommy had chosen a simple way to cook the Salmon – by just fry it with some butter together with asparagus and tomato…


Oh no, I’ve forgotten to add some lemon juice on the Salmon, so it turned out a bit fishy. How can I afford to leave out such an important step?

And for me, the butter’s taste does not blend well with Salmon; I think I better stick with sunflower-oil next time.

Sarah was unable to finish the meal…was she feeling full or she just don’t like it? Anyway, I will give this porridge another try tomorrow and only then decide whether

I'm even more lazy. I shred the salmon, then I chop some carrots and garlic and throw them all into the pot with the rice to make the porridge. And no, it doesn't taste or smell fishy.

but he likes soup n noodles....rice and EGG

I thought butter should taste well with the salmon?? Hhhmmm ...... but bravo to you joanne, I think all the dish you have cooked for Sarah really deserves a big applause :) At least she is willing to try everything that you have cooked. How I wish my Angel should be less picky like Sarah :)

I never buy salmon and cook at home... Where you normally buy? I wish to try it out. I read from some parenting magazies and get to know that asparagus is actually not so suitable for kids and preggie mummy... But I am not so sure about that. You can goggle search and check it out when you free.

Yalor, thats what I thought like two western food combined together, should be nice mah hor. But I think it taste weird lor. But my fren suggested maybe I can bake it with butter. It taste better.
Thank you so much for your comment Caroline. Actually I am not good in cooking, but I am lucky that Sarah willing to eat the food I cook. Therefore I think Sarah deserves a big applause.
For me, I think Angel is not that picky in food. She eats a lot of food that you cooked.

I am glad that Sarah also quite "adventurous" in terms of food, therefore she encourages me to try everything..hehe.

Maybe Philip doesnt like the soft texture of the porridge.

Not bad....salmon with porridge. I Never saw salmon in the wet market at my place here.Dun think is avail...Normally I will cook Fish Fillet with spring onion + ginger,served with either rice/porridge.Taste yummy. Or u can try cook fish fillet with Black Bean + Leek.It also yummy.

never try to cook asparagus before.. not sure how to deal with it.. perhaps i will give it a try when both gals recover from flu later ( now they have no appetite to makan even..)

I see .... baked with butter not the same with cook with butter ah? I think bake with butter should be nice too :) I hope that Sarah will love it this round :)

Oh no, Angel is definitely a picky eater coz not all the food I cook she would eat it like last time before she turns picky! But now maybe I know what food she likes and avoid the food she dislikes so she is ok with her food so far la. Can you imagine that day we went to buffet and the chef cooked her a delicious fried mee, she doesn't want to eat them at all? Then only we found out that she doesn't wants to eat yellow mee @_@ Picky or not???????

I think so gua, maybe bake and fried is a different method, so it will affect the result altho using the same ingredient.
For Sarah, since she doesnt love the butter salmon, I just cook the salmon porridge with some garlic, mixed veges and walla, she likes it. Lucky me!
Mommy always knows the best for their baby. It is good that you know which food to avoid so that Angel would eat her food.
oo..She doesnt like yellow mee? I guess because of its taste?

Mummy Gwen said... time you should just use the sunflower oil. Maybe add some shredded ginger too to get rid off the fishy smell?

Yeap, I think frying it using cooking oil is so much better.
Thanks for your tips. Ginger works perfectly with getting rid of the fishy smell.
