Dried Scallop + Apple + Barley Porridge

Really run out of idea this time…

How about dried scallop plus apple plus barley for porridge? Why not? After all I still got these leftover ingredients in my kitchen.

I must confess that this is not a good combination; imagine the fishy taste of the dried scallop combined with the sweetness from the apple…it taste weird.

I really thought that Sarah won’t like it but I was wrong. She had no qualms in swallowing it.

I've not tried this combination of porridge before. Anyway, Sarah is really a good girl...not picky about food and eat whatever u cook for her :)

Oh ... can see that sarah really willing to eat any combinations of porridge cooked by mommy .... that's really good. That certainly makes mommy very happy! My Angel is not more an angel when it comes to her meal time, just a slight weird taste in the porridge, she will refuse to eat them :(

Sarah is not picky eater gal....She seem like everything that mum cooks for her. Ryan does not like to eat dry scallop.I think of blending dry scallop into powder form n add into porridge while cooking.

Dear all mommies, thanks for all your comment about Sarah. I always feel lucky that she "sapu" most of the food that I cook.

Ryan doesnt like dried scallop? Is it because of its texture?
It is a very good idea to blend the dried scallop. I think Ryan might okay with it.

Merryn. Yugene:
Everytime when I see her swallowing the food with no problem, I am so so relief.

I must say I am lucky and thankful that Sarah likes most of my food.

Actually this is not the first time I use Barley and Apple as the ingredients. If only combined these two ingredients, the taste is good. I just tasted it today.

Mommy Gwen:
The porridge taste quite sweet but has fishy taste too.

Hehe, yes barley porridge. I have tried it last time. The porridge texture is a bit gluey.
Ya, maybe the apple has been cooked too long in the slow cooker, thats why it turned out too sweet.

I am so happy to know that you have bookmarked the recipes. Actually you can create your recipe too for DQ when she is ready for solid food, I am sure she will like it.

Serene, KC:
She is very "wei sek", so she "sapu" the food. :-)

Yaya, Sarah really make my day when she did not waste the food.
Hmmm...Different toddler have different taste buds. Hope that Angel will accept all kind of food that prepared by mommy in near future.

This is a weird combination. So better not to try..hehe.
If really wanna try, maybe take away the dried scallop, then taste will be better.

Ooo...out of sudden that Philip doesnt like porridge?

Julie: You are most welcome.
Hope Jonathan will like it.

Joanne, sometimes I also add barley to my porridge when I cook it, it definitely adds nutrition and yes, it makes it gooey, so add more water lah :)

You like to have barley into your porridge? I seldom eat porridge, so I only can do that to Sarah..hehe.
Let her be my "tikus putih".
Thanks for your tips. I will add more water next time.
