A Happier Sunday

What a difference a week makes.

After the sad episode of last Saturday, this week we celebrated my father’s birthday and also the belated mother’s day…well, I guest life must go on.

We’ve went to Lala Chong (at Kampung Subang) for dinner yesterday. The food taste not bad and they served in big portion too. Sarah has tried their famous dish - Seafood Tofu Soup. She ate with rice and she’s kind of like it. For 10 of us, it is a full filling meal.

After the meal, we went back home for the cake cutting ceremony. We sang birthday song for father. I was surprised that Sarah learned a few words of the song. She even (try to) sang it when she saw a piece of leftover cake in the fridge.

I am glad that my mom is recouping quite well, and I’m sure she will get over the grief soon.

Thanks to all mommies concern and regards. We are getting better now. Let bygone be bygone.Queenie and Merryn:
Ooo, you stayed near subang airport? My popo was from Kg Subang too but after that moved to USJ.
Maybe can go there and order their special food like lala and also the tofu soup. No need to order expensive things like crab and prawn. Like us hor, we also did not order that, because it is so exp. It is about RM45 per kg of crab!

Thanks for visiting my blog.
I thought to add yours into my blog link, but seems like can't access to it. Mind to advice?
Most ppl said that I looked like my mom and Sarah looked like me. Hehe.

Ya, it was a pleasant evening.

You also have heard so much about the restaurant ya? This makes me to visit the place too.
Yes, we did ordered the lala. It taste fresh and the soup taste good. A mild spiciness...But I think it suits yours taste bud,coz you like spicy food right? Hehe. Me too..

How often you visit the place?
Yes, there are two branches. I also went to the one that at Kg Subang. Just afraid that the one at Ara Damansara is more expensive.
But you know, the one located at Subang going to move to Kg Sg Kayu Ara soon. They gave us a notice the other day.

Actually I got the idea from you. I saw you posted something about the restaurant, so I thought to give a try there.
I went to the one located at Subang. You leh? Always go to which branch?
But you know, the one located at Subang going to move to Kg Sg Kayu Ara soon. They gave us a notice the other day.

Mommy Gwen:
You also had experienced the similar sadness ya? Sorry for you.
I am sure the moment you know the news really make you feel super sad! But as you said, now altho my popo is not with me, but she will always in my mind.
Sarah was quite behaved at the restaurant (at first). But after some time, she started to come down from high chair and played with her cousin.
At home, she was enjoying the moment that everybody singing the song.
You are so detailed ya, I also did not noticed that my mom like making a wish in the pic. But I think actually she was clapping hands.
Thanks for your wishes. I also hope that their wish will come true.

You know ar, the cake taste superb. I wil surely buy it again.
Oh yes, my dad was so happy during the cake cutting ceremony. I did not upload the video, coz in the video his smile and laugh is more obvious.
My father is 57 years old now.
Haha, Sarah's hair ya..I always said that they are the "tv antenna". I just tie it the normal way but maybe Sarah's has not much hair at that part, so the effect is a bit "stand up". hehe.

Am really glad you've regained your joyful self again. It's good to celebrate occasions together in a family right? It's the crowd that makes everything different.

It's been quite some time didn't see Sarah's pic liao - she looks so different now, pretty girl! My.. She can sing??? Clever girl lar! What cake is that? Looks really nice!

Thanks Michelle and Esmeralda for your concern. I am so happy that I have so many frens that concern me. So touched!

Definitely is something happy to gather with family members. Altho is quite noisy sometimes with the mahjung sound and etc..:-)
Thanks for your comment about Sarah. Thats how I dressed her up when she goes out for kai kai. I like that skirt with the hair style:-)
Sarah can sing only few words, but for me, it is the cutest version of birthday song that I have ever heard.
The cake actually is a fruit cake. Taste superb! Altho I seldom eat cake, but I love adore this one.

You are so sweet with the wishes to my dad and mom. Will surely convey to them.

Glad to hear that you are taking things well. It will definitely take sometime to recover. Do stand by your mom as this is the time she need you most. Take care.

The more the merrier Joanne. During CNY and some public holidays if we did balik kg, we'll be very noisy too coz lots of ppl there... Haha... Sarah has grown up so much. :D I'm so happy for you that she's able to sing some words from the bday, indeed it's a great achievement for her at such an age.

Thanks for your concern. I will surely standby with my mom whenever she needs me.

Where is your kg located? I miss CNY too but not the fireworks and firecrackers, hehe.
Now, Sarah started to feel bored when I asked her to sing Birthday song. Sombong already!

Esmeralda said...

Haha.. talking about singing, I just remembered while I was changing Ashton's diaper, he kinda 'sing' Twinkle-Twinkle-Little-Star, of coz, with his own version of "ah-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa-wa" and with his hands doing the 'twinkle-twinkle-thing'. But when I asked him to repeat, he just kept quiet and smile cheekily at me. He only do it when he felt like it, even saying things out, he will say it when he like. If I ever ask him to repeat, he will ignore me. I think that's the same with Sarah. :D

Oh.. my Kg is in interior of KK, Kuala Penyu - dunno whether you've heard of it or not lar..

Hi Joanne, i'm glad that you're feeling better now. I believe your grandma will always live in your heart and will never be forgotten by each of your family member.

Nice gathering, nice celebration!!

Thanks for your concern. I am feeling so much better now after seeing so many comment and regards from you all. You all are so sweet.
Yeap, we had a great celebration on the day.

Ashton also has his own cute version of song. So adorable boy. I never hear him talk or sing, next time upload the video ya, hehe.
Seems like kids also will act "sombong" to us one. It is really not an easy job to ask them to repeat the cute act.
You know like Sarah, recently she knew how to shake her buttock. It is very funny to watch the act, but she only do it spontaneuously and if you ask her to show you, she will shake her hands hard (NO).
I have heard of Penyu but not Kuala Penyu.
It is famous with penyu? Hehe.

Time will heal. Glad everything's going back to normal edi.

Thanks for you concern. We are getting so much better now.

Esmeralda said...

It's very very (I mean really) difficult to catch Ashton in video. Take an eg today when I tried to catch him doing his wiggly dance, but the moment he knew that I took his video, he stopped! *sigh*

Haha.. Kuala Penyu - got their name from a stone that was shaped like a turtle.. that's all I know about it.. I do wished that they have real turtles there.. but too bad..

Yes, everything back to normal now. Thanks for your regards.
Again, Sarah and Tina have the same milestone.

Is it? Difficult to capture a video of Ashton. Never mind, I will be patient in waiting for the day to come.
Hehe, so the name of Kuala Penyu is not origin of from the Penyu.
Have you seen a penyu before? I have seen once at Terengganu when I was a kid.
