Zoo Negara

I think it was more of a ‘duty’ and somewhat become a formality for every parent to bring their child to visit Zoo at least once…well, that’s included us.

I can’t remember when was the last time I’ve been to National Zoo….maybe more than 20 years ago. Therefore, when my sister proposed we have a family trip to Zoo on last Sunday, I am quite happy to accept her idea.

We reached the Zoo at about 10am. The place looks a bit run down but it is not as poorly managed as I always imagined. The surrounding is not bad and quite breeze but what lacking is the variety of the animals. It’s probably still far from being world class, but it’s good enough to provide a decent experience for our little one.

Initially, we worried that Sarah will scared of those REAL animal as compared to what she normally saw in the books and TV, but I think we are just over-concern. She was fine after all. Although she looked puzzled when I first showed her the giraffe, but after a while she started to walk all by herself and even attempted to chase the flamingo.

The weather on the day was not too hot therefore we managed to have a decent walk for about two hours before we had our lunch at some kind of ‘fake KFC’…a local-run fast food store which try to imitated KFC, their food taste real bad, I tell you.

As for the real KFC, it doesn’t exist any more, I was told (or maybe we just couldn’t locate it?)

Anyway, Sarah started to feel sleepy after the meal because she woke up very early in the morning (due to diarrhea). We were happy that she could just rest at her stroller without making a fuss, not even cry or asking us to carry.

Overall, our trip to Zoo was quite an enjoyable and educational one (for Sarah). Personal I was feeling awe-struck by the sheer size of these wild animals when I first saw them. Maybe I was too long a time didn’t come close to these real animals.

I think we shall revisit the place when Sarah is grows up.

Kylie - I think Sean will like the zoo outing if mommy organise one for him. He will then see the real animal there.

Slavemom - Hehe, the kids sure wont mind with the 'under-nourished' animals. They just like to see what they learn from books and saw from TV all the while.

Yen Ping - Ya, I remembered you told me before that Natalie went to Zoo before, and due to the weather was hot, she did not enjoyed the outing. Poor her....
- You are very detailed in looking at the pic ya. Yes, Sarah was busy looking at the giraffe when we were taking photo. In fact she also did that when we take other photos, so I have to do a lot of work in asking her to look at the camera.

Mommy Gwen - Yalor...finally we went to Zoo...hehe (after so long I asked the questions about the Sunway Lagoon Zoo to you...)
- Yes, not a bad outing. We did have some fun.
I was surprised that Sarah was so well behaved..hehe.

Caroline - yeap, a great outing.
- I think Caroline will enjoy the outing if mommy organise one. I am sure she will enjoy looking at the animals. Try to pursuade your husband lah...hehe.
- Actually there are alot of giant and big trees that provides shade in the zoo, so all the time we did not kena the sun light. So Caroline, go ahead and plan for the outing. Maybe you can bring along a cap or umbrella.
- Thanks for your comment about my first pose. You know why i posed so, because my husband stand too far from me, so I gotto try my best to stay close with him..hehe.
- Haha...Now only I noticed that I smile so happily in the photo with my mommy and daddy. Is true also...long time did not take pic with them. Hehe.
- I intentionally dress up Sarah in such a relax outfit so that she wont feel hot on the day. Seems like it works, because she can run and walk easily and hardly sweat.
- I was happy that Sarah was SO behave. Yes, she just very guai sitting in the stroller when taking photo. But one thing, she was busy looking at the animals and not the camera.

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Jess - Is it? I never been to Zoo Melaka. Talk about Melaka, such a long time I did not go there...:-)

Joanne N - Ya hor Joanne, your house is located near by.
Yeap, it was on Sunday, but the schedule was a bit packed. Perhaps we could meet next time.

Mommy Moon - Yes, it was a great outing for all of us.
- So did Yan Yan love zoo?
- Luckily the day when we were there, it was not so hot.

Kristie - Yes, it is a fun outing. Next time you can bring Jayden there. I am sure he will be more brave than Sarah...hehe.
- I did not capture the video that Sarah was chasing the flamingo, coz at that time, i was busy taking care of her. I am afraid the flamingo will bite her.
- Haha...actually the kid that next to Sarah is Sarah's cousin, Lik Hwang kor kor. Hehe.

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Kristie, agreed with you. Is fun and good to bring our kid for outdoor activities. I am planning for more this kind of activity for Sarah.

Infact, I looked so funny when I was taking k of Sarah while she was trying to chase the flamingo. So, luckily I was not able to capture the video and show you here.

Ai Peng said...

glad that all of you enjoy yourselves there.

haha, the food was bad ke? We were too hungry that time, all masuk only. Did Sarah sit on the musical cars over there?

At first Xiang just sat there without putting coins in, I saw him so kesain, drooling at other kids moving machine, so finally I did exchange the coins for him.

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Hai Ai Peng, thanks for reading thru the post and visiting my blog.
Yes, the food taste not good lor. So funny, the moment we walked in, we thought it is KFC. But once sit down and ordered food already, then only knew is NOT! What to do...makan lor.
You know what, Sarah always very "siao dan", she dare not to sit on those car ride, so she did not ask for it when she saw it at the restaurant.
Xiang very good boy ya, never make noise that he insisted to get the car ride moving.
