Just when I thought the previous two week’s event was tough enough, silly me…
Last Saturday was my sister’s Chinese wedding dinner. Initially I was naïve to assume that it will be a less hectic day compared to Indian dinner (a jam-packed whole day event). But alas, it turned out the whole day I was very busy taking care of Sarah. She was having fever that day (caused by the growing Molars).
Her crankiness over the day was just unbearable.
Anyway, we manage to reach the dinner at about 7.45pm. Sarah started to feel uncomfortable the moment she was in the restaurant. After much effort in comforting her, she finally sat down on the high chair, but not for long. Once the karaoke session started, she just cried, cried and cried. Maybe she doesn’t like the loud sound and maybe also due to the fever…she felt frustrated!
As you can imagine, I did not have the chance to sit still on my chair for the rest of the dinner. I was busy carrying her around and wiped her tears…poor girl!
Until a moment she felt sleepy and tired, she just fell asleep in my arm till the dinner ended. What a relief…
This was another challenge for me. Apparently it is not easy to take care of a sick toddler while attending a wedding dinner.
P/S: Thank God that Sarah is in the process of recovery from the fever.
