Safety Gate

Ever since the scary incident that Sarah climbing up the stairs, we are determine to install a suitable safety gate to block her. The reason why I said “suitable” it is because my stairs have very wide width, hence to find the right size of safety gate is a headache to us and causing much delay.

We thought that to get a deluxe size of safety gate could solve our problem, but it still doesn’t wide enough to fit into the stairs. Sigh!

That is why, we have spent weeks in searching for shops which sell separate extension bar and finally we manage to get it from “My Dear” warehouse at Puchong.

By fitting in two extension bars to the gate (circled in red), it is ready to be install on the stairs. Peace of mind for us at last.

It's really a good idea to install the safety gate.:) I got mine from Babyland in PJ. Is yrs local made or imported?

Hmm... how much does it cost for the My dear safety gate? Is it strong enough with the gate installed on the so narrow staircase beam?

I went to search at ToysrUs, found the one which could extend longer bars but it's very expensive...with the extension would cost about RM400!

THinking of getting one at kitchen are which I'm more worried about... as Ryan loves to hang around in the kitchen nowadays...

Be careful that she might climb on it and start shaking the gate. That's what Jonathan is doing to his baby cot until it's almost broken.

Julie - At this moment, she hasnt know how to climb up to the gate yet, but she knows how to shake it. Yes, thanks for your advice. Will keep an eye on her.
- Woww...Jonathan so strong, shake the baby cot till it almost broke?

Vivi - Yes, is good to install safety gate so it can prevent our lil one from injury.

Kylie - yeap, normally Toy R Us selling things more expensive, but I think the quality is better.

Doreen - Actually the gate my husband got it from a near by furniture shop. It is about RM110. Only the extension bar we got it from MyDear.
- We thought to fix the bar onto a wider surface, but seems like we have not much option. Thats why we were fixing it very tight and firm, and hope that Sarah wont shake it till fall down.
- Woww...RM400 for a gate..Actually if you wish to get a better quality gate, you may also get it from online bb shop. They do sell at different prices and also quality.

Mommy Gwen - Mine one was made locally. My husband got it from a furniture shop.
- I know babyland. Is it the one located at SS2? I was working at SS2 b4.

Yes, Joanne. It's the one at SS2. I bought the brand called Lindam. It looks better than the local made one but after a while the gate's hinge became a bit loose. Maybe we are rough when closing it haha..
