Potty Training (Lesson 2)

It's time for me to update the potty training progression with you all, after training Sarah for about a month time.

Initially, she was able to wee wee in the potty chair i bought her for several days. But after a while, she started to get hesitated when I made her to sit on the potty. So, I decided to use the traditional potty instead.

Once I have changed the potty, she seems more comfortable with it. She also can wee wee there. From that point onwards, I really thought the traditional type of potty has solved my problem. So I continued my effort in training her using this potty.

Until few weeks ago, things changed. Every time I put her on the potty, she will immediately stand up. Then, if I put her down again, she will do the same. So, I was a bit disappointed at that time. But I know is always not an easy task to potty training a child.

So, what should I do now?

Ok, I am going to stick with the training! I know that potty training is a long term 'programme'. Although at this moment, it is not a big success yet, but at least she has the idea planted in her brain about, "what is potty". Because whenever I asked her where is the 'potty shee shee', she will looked at it at the right direction. Not bad huh?

I will always remind myself to be more patient and I am sure the results will come one day. Good luck and relax!

I actually started potty train sean as early as when he's 3 month++.. Kind of early isn't it? He's ok with poo on potty d... Later on, he having difficulty poo poo... Almost 1 week didn't poo!~ Ever since then, whenever he c the potty, he'll immediately stand up like Sarah does now~~~ I think he's very scared of the potty now... I guess I really need a lot more patient to re-train him now~~~ As u mentioned, this is really a long term programme!~
p/s: after tat 1 week didn't poo, I change his milk formulae from similac to mamex gold...

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Caroline, I am not sure whether the traditional type is better, but I think Sarah will feel more confortable sitting on it. Coz the hole has smoother edge.
- Good luck to you too :-)

MOmmy Gwen, hehe...advance ya? Is ok lah, actualy is all depends on the kid and the mommy.
For me, I have the totally opposite thinking as yours. For me, I always think is good to train them since young age (my opinion). Coz i think at this time, they still blur2, so more easy to train. So, now I also consider myself that late in training Sarah.
- Thanks for your encouragement.

Sha - Actually I also have not much knowledge about potty training. But searching from website, you wil defitely know more about it.
What i think is, different mommy has different lut thinking about when suppose to start potty train. Some as early as new born, some as late as 3 years is all depends.
So good ya.

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Yen Ping, natalie so cute. Will screamed when you put her on new design potty. I think Sarah also prefer the traditional type.
- Yes, potty training definitely needs some effort leh..Sometimes I also lazy, kekek.

Therese, ai seh...looked funny meh? you know lah, that part kena cover abit mah..
- My husband far he doesnt involved much in the training. Normally, I just asked him to bring the potty to me...hehe.

Michelle, thanks for your support and encouragement. I will surely add oil.

Kylie, actually I think is good that you have started to train Sean that early. Coz since it is a long term prog, so if this time failed, we stil have time to train them.
- So after changed the formula, Sean poo2 routine has back to normal?

Mummy Gwen said...

Gwen never show any sign whether she peed or pooed already or not so I also don't know whether I should start potty training her. Wah..Joanne when blur2 also can train ah? Then I better start soon..hehe..Anyway, u guys are doing a good job. Keep it up. :) Have a nice weekend!

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Actually is really up to you Mommy Gwen to see when you want to start training Gwen in terms of potty training.
Haha...ya see if the bb is blur2, for eg, during their new born time, so when we put them on the potty, then they will do their biz. Coz they dont know what is potty mah..hehe
Thanks alot mommy gwen. Will definitely keep it up.

little prince's mummy said...

Joanne, yup.. after change, back to normal~~ Only that he don't like potty after that~~~

Qi said...

Joanne.. Gabateh !! actually i also don't know how to train my girl...

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Vivi - Thanks! Hehe..nevermind, just start potty training Qiqi when you think is the right time

Esmeralda said...

I also has problems with potty-training Ashton. Everytime when he sits on the potty, the next second he will stand up, and sit down, and stand up again. Got 1 time he even put his hand inside to touch the inside of the potty. Luckily he hasn't started peeing or pooing yet. Until now, not even a single drop of pee or a single bit of poo in the potty. Hard work I know. Gambatei...

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Esmeralda - You also has started potty training Ashton? Since when? Yes, is a tough training for both of us, the mommy and the bb.
Hehe..Luckily the potty dont have anything, or else, you will have a tough time to clean him.

Esmeralda said...

Joanne, I've actually started potty training Ashton 2 months back, but it's on and off thing. If he wanna sit and play, then I can start training. If he don't even wanna sit still, I can't train him. Yup.. Kambateh to us and all mummies who r potty-training now.

Sarah's Daddy and Mommy said...

Esmeralda - me, actually in one day time, i will let Sarah sit on her potty once, which is after her morning nap. After that, no more..coz I dont want to pressure her too much!
But is good also, at least she can wee2 there.
